The 50 Dispositions of Buddhi (Pratyaya Sarga)
Verse 46 introduces the psychological or intellectual creations of Buddhi, dividing them into four main categories that total 50 subdivisions:
- Viparyaya (Ignorance/Misconception): 5 broad divisions (detailed in Verse 47 & 48)
- Aśakti (Incapacity/Disability): 28 divisions (detailed in Verse 49)
- Tuṣṭi (Complacency/Contentment): 9 divisions (detailed in Verse 50)
- Siddhi (Perfection/Success): 8 divisions (detailed in Verse 51)
Total = 5 + 28 + 9 + 8 = 50.
