Patanjali Yoga Sutra 3.38

ते समाधावुपसर्गा व्युत्थाने सिद्धयः॥३८॥

Swami Vivekananda's translation

These are obstacles to Samadhi; but they are powers in the worldly state.

Vyasa Bhashya (Sanskrit)

ते प्रातिभादयः समाहितचित्तस्योत्पद्यमाना उपसर्गास्तद्दर्शनप्रत्यनीकत्वात्। व्युत्थितचित्तस्योत्पद्यमानाः सिद्धयः ॥ ३७ ॥

Vyasa Bhashya (English Translation)

These [powers] such as Pratibha, arising in the concentrated mind (samadhi), are obstacles (upasargas) because they are opposed to the vision of That (Purusha). But when they arise in the outgoing mind (vyutthana), they are considered perfections (siddhis). || 37 ||
